Do employees get paid holidays?

Yes. Employees receive up to 28 days annual leave per year, pro rata, based on hours worked

Does Crossroads Domiciliary have a pension scheme?

Yes. Crossroads offer a pension scheme to all employees

What areas of Northern Ireland do Crossroads Domiciliary work?

Our Domiciliary Care is in conjunction with the Northern, Belfast and South-Eastern HSC Trust areas

Will I get work close to where I live?

Crossroads endeavour to place Care Attendants main work within the area that they live

Is pay received weekly or monthly?

Pay is received at the end of each month

Do I need any experience or qualifications to apply for Care Attendant roles?

No, experience and qualifications are not essential. We provide full training and paid shadowing prior to starting your work, to ensure you have the knowledge and confidence to carry out your role. We’d encourage you to apply if you have a desire to help others and a caring nature

Do I need a driving license to apply for Care Attendant roles?

Yes. To apply we ask that you have a full driving licence and access to a car

What type of car insurance do I need?

Car insurance needs to include business cover for you to carry out your role. If you don’t already have this, business cover is normally only a small additional cost and allows you to drive your car “in connection with your business/employer’s business”

Is mileage paid for driving between calls?

We pay mileage when employees travel 600 miles or more a month.

For all employees, we record all mileage travelled and help you to claim expenses from HMRC through Mileage Allowance Relief of up to 45p per mile.

Will I receive training before I start working?

All new staff receive full induction training prior to working

Is shadowing work paid?

Yes. New Care Attendants receive up to 20 hours paid shadowing with an experienced member of staff

What career progression opportunities are there for Care Attendants?

Career development within Crossroads Domiciliary provides Care Attendant progression to Scheme Managers, Monitoring Officers and On-Call responsibilities

What type of contracts are Care Attendants offered?

Crossroads offer two contracts to Care Attendants over seven days a week: Full-Time and Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week, morning or evening)

Do you offer Care Attendant bank contracts?

No, we do not have bank staff contracts

How much do Care Attendant uniforms cost?

All new Care Attendants receive free uniform: two tunics for full-time staff and one tunic for part-time staff. If desired, uniform (tunics, polo shirts and fleeces) can be purchased in addition to free uniform
